Samer Mini Direct October Recap

Here is a recap of the October mini Samer direct event that I originally posted on Twitter.

A new Samer Hills game was announced - Samer Hills Hollow Jack

It will be a night of trick-or-terror as Hollow Jack roams the streets in search of his next victim in this upcoming Halloween special! Introducing "Samer Hills Hollow Jack" - Coming Soon

Coming Soon???

Originally, my plan was to have this new game out by today just in time for Halloween. Unfortunately, the game still needs a little more time. I may have missed my October deadline but, I'm not going to let that get in the way of this project. Not to worry, we WILL celebrate Halloween again.

I can also confirm that this will be the first available game entry in the Samer Hills series. I am excited about this one and can't wait to show more.

What happened to Toxic Turtle, the first Samer Hills announced title? Not to worry, still being developed. In "The Debug" at the end, I've stated that other SH titles may release prior. It was all planned from the start. In the Samer Hills game series, the order does not matter.

Lots of great content is being made at Snowconesolid Productions and I can't wait to reveal more down the road as well as finally release some new games! Keep checking back for more news, updates, and spooky content and have a happy Halloween!

Samer Direct 1 Full Recap: Samer Hills - Everything you need to know

Today I held the very first Samer Direct over on my twitter account. It's a day full of Samer gaming news, previews, info, announcements, gamedev plans, etc. It's a brief look at what's brewing over at Snowconesolid Productions. I talk about what I'm working on, show off some cool gifs, videos and previews and give sneak peeks into current and future Samer Khatib games. The Samer Direct is similar to that one other Direct show but far less interesting and exciting. It's actually not even a show or a live stream or anything fancy at all.

The Samer Direct that was held over on my twitter today was basically just me spamming my twitter feed with a bunch of cool gifs. It was me posting news about what I was working on in an extremely unorganized fashion. I was all over the place. I'm pretty sure many got annoyed by it at some point. With that said, I would say overall, the very first Samer Direct was a big success and was well received. I enjoyed sharing and showcasing some of my newest work and what I have been building up for a while now. I intend on doing more Samer Directs for future announcements of Samer Khatib Games and I intend on doing it the same exact way as I did today. Just blasting tweets. "LOOK AT MY NEW GAME!" "CHECK THIS OUT!"

With that out of the way, here is a full recap of everything shown and talked about in today's Samer Direct (Samer Direct 1) including all the very cool gifs I posted! (This post is just a collection of all the tweets a I posted for the Samer Direct all bundled into one post.)

Introducing: Samer Hills 🎃

A spooky anthological horror video game series that follows Samer Khatib as he explores the atmospheric, enigmatic, ominous, & often foggy world of Samer Hills. Strange & creepy things happen in Samer Hills & you're invited to experience them!

A place of the unexplained, the paranormal, & the bizarre. A mysterious, surreal, dreamlike world of nightmares, terror, & oddities. Its the home of freaks, creeps, ghosts, otherworldly beings, strange creatures, & just about anything else your wildest imagination can think of! 💀

Join Samer Khatib as he goes on new adventures, makes new friends, and attempts to survive in Samer Hills! 👻🔪

Step aside Mario! Samer Khatib is the new face of gaming! In the next set of tweets, we share what features the new most iconic figure in gaming has to offer! What makes him unique and so great?

Samer Khatib is often clueless and lazy! He can't run very fast and has horrible stamina! In a situation where you need to run for your life? Samer Khatib is the type of character who would not make it out alive!

He can't jump very high either!

And he's a total wimp! Afraid of every little noise he hears. Even the sound of a fart will give him a heart attack!

All these traits make Samer Khatib the perfect protagonist for the world of Samer Hills as well as gaming in general! Samer Khatib is the exact opposite of everything a video game hero should be.

This is a game series/project that has been years in the making. Something i've always wanted to bring to fruition but was never able to because I was never at that level to produce the game in the quality I had envisioned.

The Debug is my most recent game & that came out only days ago. Giraffe Town came out nearly 2 years ago. I decided to take a step back from making games. I needed to improve, sharpen my skills, & learn more. I didn't want to make games until I was ready again.

The quality of my games is something that is super important to me. They have to feel well made. They have to look good. They have to be unique & work as expected. When making The Debug, quality & presentation meant everything to me. I have these higher standards for my work now.

As mentioned, Samer Hills is an anthological series. There is no continuing storyline. Games are not labeled as episodes. The order does not matter. Each Samer Hills title will be it's own unique standalone game.

The first Samer Hills title announced was shown in the end of The Debug. It will be called: Samer Hills Toxic Turtle. This title as well as many other Samer Hills titles are in development. Please note: other Samer Hills titles might be announced and released before Toxic Turtle.

Samer Hills is a game series that does not take itself too seriously and is inspired by shows like Goosebumps, courage the cowardly dog, and other cartoons. And that's how I'm approaching Samer Hills. As if it's a cartoon series. Samer Khatib is a cartoon character.

Gamings latest and most iconic new hero, Samer Khatib - Faces all the spooks and scares this fall season. Please stay tuned for more news updates and announcements in the coming days for more from Snowconesolid Productions! 🎃👻🍁🍂

And with that, this concludes the very first SAMER DIRECT. Thank you everyone for joining & taking an interest in my wacky projects. I'm very excited to finally be working on Samer Hills, a project that has been a dream of mine for years & finally, we are making it happen. 🎃🙏

More to come soon! Stay tuned!

Still making games? Yes. Blog update.

Just wanted to post an update here on the blog to let everyone know that I am still alive and that yes I am still making games (*background* "Nobody cares, your games suck!")

Yes yes thank you everyone. It feels great to be back. Well I was never really gone. I just wasn't working on any new games...

Anyway! My last post was back in June, then I kinda just left and enjoyed summer break. So I think an update over here is long overdue. I have been working on a new game over the past few days. I don't really want to say to much about it at the moment cause i'm not really sure where I am going with this project. It is kind of like a random making it up as I go kinda game. But so far I like what I have! As you can see by the screenshot above, my next project is a little bit inspired off of something that might seem familiar to many gamers.

I don't really want to go on and on like a usual blog post. So I will keep this update short and just leave it here. Also, I am thinking about starting to post vlog updates about my games in the future. Maybe show some behind the scenes stuff, show some in game footage on camera, etc. I don't know yet. Stay tuned.  I will post more updates soon.

MORE DEV SCREEN SHOTS!

Release: Jack-O-Lantern 3D App

Hey everyone. Today I released my "Jack-O-Lantern 3D" app! If you remember in my last blog post I mentioned I was working on 3d jackolantern app and I even showed a little preview. It is finally finished and available now on the Google Play store

The app features a high quality 3d Jack-O-Lantern that really lights up + other features. I created two different versions of the app. A free version and a pro version. The free version has limited features and the pro version has full features.

Jack-O-Lantern 3D is the perfect app for getting into the Fall spirit! Don't have Halloween decorations at your home? You don't need them! With my Jack-O-Lantern 3D app you will instantly feel the atmosphere of the Fall season!

Screen shots:

Both versions available on the play store now.
Get it here:

Jack-O-Lantern 3D Pro

Jack-O-Lantern 3D Free

This is my first ever Non-Game app release. Jack-O-Lantern 3D is a interactive 3d novelty/toy app that gives users their very own jack-O-lantern. My goal was to create a high quality well polished 3d interactive Jack-O-Lantern app for Android devices. I gave myself a one week time frame to create the app from scratch from start to finish. I created everything from 3d models, graphics, touch controls, mechanics, to the app icons, user interface (UI), etc. I really wanted to deliver a well polished app that looks both visually appealing and professionally done. This was a great project for me to take on and I think it shows how far I have come as a developer. I had a lot of fun creating this and am really proud of the final results. I look forward to creating more apps similar to this and aim to deliver the same quality and polish with my future apps and games. Thanks for reading and I hope you check it out.

Enjoy. Have a great weekend!

Preview: 3D Jack-O-Lantern app (100th post!)

Hey everyone. Today I want to showcase a little bit of what I have been working on this past week. This is going to be my first Non-game app (yesterday I wrote a blog post discussing that I would be focusing on creating some non-game apps)

Anyway I have been posting some screenshots on my twitter about this lately over the past couple days. For the Halloween spirit,  I decided to create a 3D Jack-O-Lantern app. I started it over the weekend and have been developing it bit by bit. I plan on finishing it up and releasing it before the end of this week so very soon.

It will be a very simple 3d interactive novelty/toy type app that gives users their own jack-o-lantern in a nice 3d scene.

(In Blender3d, model with two different textures, light and normal)

(In Unity3D engine with bumped Spec Shader)

The app will include various small features that users can tweak and interact with. I am still working on implementing them at the moment but overall I am almost finished with it.

For now you can check out the beta web player build here: 3D Jack-O-Lantern Beta Build Demo

There is a lot of other features I have already implemented but did not include in the beta webplayer build. So expect more in the final version.

My goal with this app is to focus on creating a very well polished high quality interactive 3d scene. So focusing on high quality graphics and high quality 3d models is very important this time around. I want to deliver something that is visually appealing and is nice to look at.

That is all for now. As I mentioned earlier, I plan on finishing this app and making it available on the Google Play Store for android users by the end of this week. I look forward to it and am having fun creating this 3d jackolantern!

Thanks for reading. More soon.

Off topic: Wow this is my 100th blog post here on blogger! Its been crazy. I have a lot more posts and am here to stay for a long time. I want to take a second to thank the people behind blogger for creating this service. I love blogger and I plan on using it for a long time. So thanks people at google and people who create blogger!

The two eventually realize that they do not have the ingredients to make this soup. Fogo tells Oliver that all the ingredients can be found at a place called "Black Cloud Island". Fogo takes Oliver to the entrance of the island where the game begins. Take the role of Oliver OliveTree and skydive down below to this mysterious place called "Black Cloud Island" in search of the ingredients for the so called Forest Soup.
