"DaHoop" Character. New Webplayer + Making Of!
"DaHoop" is my newest original character. I made this character just for fun and to practice my low poly modeling techniques and skills. Short description I gave the character: DaHoop is a legendary basketball player that never lost a single 1 on 1 game before. He is called DaHoop because he literally is in control of the basketball hoop when on the playing field.
While making this character I kept track of my progress and just posted a new "Making Of" article to show how I made this character model from start to finish. Check out the full making of in the "Making Of..." section of the blog or over here:
Making Of DaHoop (Link)
I have also created a web demo for this model so that you can view it in your web browser in the unity game engine for yourself. Its up in the "Webplayers" section of the blog or you can check it out over here:
Web Demo of DaHoop (Link)
This is a low poly game ready model. Only 3448 tris and rigged, its perfect for any game even a mobile game. I had a lot of fun making this character. You might see him appear in some of my game projects in the future sometime.

Snowconesolid Crazy Cats!
As a quick low poly character modeling practice I decided to come up with my own personal exercise. My goal was to create a simple character that can be reused to create a variety of the same character. My end results are the Snowconesolid Crazy Cats. A variety of colorful cat like characters I came up with.
So as I mentioned in my goal above, I modeled one low poly cat character, created a simple texture and rigged it with multiple poses. I then only modified the texture and created a variety of different colors which allowed me to reuse my character and give him a different appearance. Its really simple and probably something commonly done in the game dev/ 3d graphics industry.
I created a playable webplayer demo for everyone to tryout in their browser with unity. This will let you walk around and closely observe my crazy cat character models. Try it out over here
This was a really fun and easy modeling practice and I encourage all of you to try it out for yourselves as well. Create a simple character and then reuse it to make a variety of the same character. You can do this by changing the texture color, maybe create different body shapes (fat, skinny, tall, short, etc) of the original character by only adjusting the polygons in your original model (don't add or remove any polygons), etc. Give this exercise a try.
Group Photo!
I am actually really happy with the final results of my cat character. Its rigged and low poly (about 2900 tris only) and game ready. You might see some of these cats appear in future game projects of mine!
To end this post here is the various kinds of crazy cats:
Blueberry Cat
yellow Cat
Orange Cat
Red Cat
Green Cat
Purrrrrrple Cat
Blue Blue Cat
Grey Cat

Sunset Cat
9 Different Cats. 9 Lives each.

The Flower boy character
After releasing my recent toon game "Hide-n-Seek Winter" I began planning out some stuff for my next game project. Today I would like to show you the newest character I have been working on. The main character for my next game project is "The Flower Boy".
Flower Boy background: The Flower Boy was once a seed who was planted in some soft soil during an apocalyptic time. After 16 years in the soil, the flower boy has finally grown out of the ground and is seeing the world for the first time. However, he came into a post apocalyptic world. Everything is destroyed and there isn't a single sign of life around.
This little background will play into the character and games storyline. That is for another time though when I have a lot more to show for my next game project featuring my flower boy character in the future.
Making Of...
Also I have created a new section on the blog called "Making Of...". It is located at the top between the "3D Artwork" tab and the "Webplayers" tab. In this new section of the blog I will post "making of" articles about how I created my characters, artwork, games, etc from start to finish. I have already posted my first "Making of " recently of this Flower Boy character that you see here in the above image. To check it out go to the "making of" section of the blog or check it out over here:
Making Of the Flower Boy (Link)
In this "making of" I show how I created the Flower Boy character. I will try to keep the "Making of" section updated as often as I can and post more making of stuff down the road.
WebPlayer Demo:
Looking at pictures of the finished model is nice but its even cooler to see the model in 3d actually in the unity game engine. I have created a web player demo that you can try out directly in your web browser to check out my new Flower Boy character and see what he will look like in the game engine.
You can try it out over here:
Press the space key to change the characters pose.
You can also find this webplayer along with other webplayers I made over time in the "Webplayers" section above.
More soon!
