Potato Thriller coming to Android!

Hello everyone. I have been working on porting my most recent horror game "Potato Thriller" to the Android platform. Above is a screenshot showing off the new UI and touch screen controls. I still have a bit of work to do on the port so it is not ready for release just yet. However, I'v been working on the Android version for a couple days now and it should not take me very long to finish either. So my estimated release plan right now is to have the Android port out sometime this week. Most likely around the end of the week or during the weekend? Maybe. Depends on how things go. No guarantees. But that is what I will aim for in the meantime.

The mobile Android version of "Potato Thriller" will be available on Google Play Store soon.
Get ready to hunt down the deadly potato man on the go yo!

As always, more updates soon. Peace.

Release: Slippery Ice Ball (Android)

Im getting bored trying to make big complicated games with story lines and purpose. Yesterday, I decided to take break from that. Instead, I decided to create a really dumb pointless game. I wanted to create something short, simple and in only a couple hours. So I created "Slippery Ice Ball"

A game where you play as a slippery ice ball in an ice cave maze. Collect pears to survive. Don't hit the walls or else you will loose. Not sure why I created this. It kinda sucks actually. If you like a stressful challenge then this is the game for you.

Download for free from the Google Play Store today!
Enjoy. As always, more soon!

Release: Super Rubber Duck

Just released my newest mobile game "Super Rubber Duck" on Google Play store for free. This is an endless addictive challenging game about a red cape wearing rubber duck. Tap the screen to make your rubber ducky jump. Jump through various challenging restrooms and avoid getting hit by angry spiky flying soap bars! How far can you travel? How many restrooms will you clear?

Life as a rubber duck is not easy...

Get the game from Google Play over here: Google Play - Super Rubber Duck

Developer Comments:
I actually had a lot of fun creating this one. It was nice to work on a simple game for once. I enjoyed this project mainly because it was small and simple. I only spent about a week total creating it. I had an idea for a mobile game, I knew what I wanted to do and how to do it so I quickly was able to put the whole thing together and the result is this game, "Super Rubber Duck". I have created other mobile games and put them up on the Google PlayStore in the past but I was never really satisfied with them. They didn't feel like games for mobile devices. However, that is not the case with this game. I am very satisfied with the final game I created this time and feel like I have finally made a game that was meant to be played on mobile devices. "Super Rubber Duck" is my first true mobile game. It's a game that anyone can play.

Once again, I really enjoyed making this one and I think down the road I might make more games like this for mobile. I am looking forward to hearing feedback from anyone who tries the game out and seeing other peoples scores and how well they did, how many restrooms they were able to get past without getting hit by spiky soap enemies! :D

Thanks everyone and enjoy the game. More blog updates and new games coming soon!

Super Rubber Duck Coming to Android

So I have been working on new small game over the past couple days. Actually, as I mentioned in the previous post, I started working on this after submitting my entry for the zelda themed game jam over at gamejolt.com

My next game will be called "Super Rubber Duck". It will be a simple endless mobile game for Android devices. You play as a rubber duck with a red cape and must avoid hitting spiky soap enemies in a bathroom environment.

I created this game fairly quickly. It's already pretty much done at this point but I want to spend a couple more days doing polish work before releasing it to the app store. I am very excited about this one and look forward to releasing it for everyone to play very soon. I plan on releasing it either this Sunday or Monday.

Thanks for reading everyone!

Finally played around with Unity 5!

As everyone probably knows already, Unity 5 came out at the beginning of March (March 3) and it was a really exciting day for game developers, the people behind the unity engine and unity fanboys and girls all over the world. I remember being very excited about Unity 5 as soon as I heard it came out that week and I just wanted to download it right away and start making awesome games with it.

Unfortunately, I had to hold that excitement back for a bit. When Unity 5 came out I was still developing my recent released game "Don't Explode". Of course I could of just move that project from Unity 4 into Unity 5 and finished it there but I didn't want to do that because it was pretty much almost finished, I had all the features built in and it just needed some polish work. I wasn't sure if anything would break if I upgraded to Unity 5. Long story short, I decided to hold off on using Unity 5 until I finished and released my latest Android game. But now, that is out of the way. My game is complete and you can download "Don't Explode" today for free off the Google PlayStore

With that out of the way, I finally downloaded Unity 5, opened it up played around with it and even created a quick simple demo scene to test out a bunch of cool new features the updated engine comes with. Mainly played around with rendering settings, new shaders and so on to create a beautiful looking 3d scene using only 3d primitive gameobjects Unity comes with. (Such as cubes, capsules, planes, etc)

Screen shot of my results:

See it in action running live in your browser with the Webplayer I built!
Webplayer Demo: Unity 5 WebDemo Test

Bottom Line:
Is that after playing around with Unity 5 for a couple hours I am in love with it! The Unity team continues to upgrade their engine to be the best and pack each release with awesome new features. I'm still exploring Unity 5 for myself and playing around with and testing all of these great new built in features. I personally am really excited to start creating all my upcoming games and projects with the new Unity 5 engine and I am really looking forward to sharing my creations with everyone else. Also, I am really looking forward to seeing what other developers will create with Unity 5 and what the Unity team has for us next.

My next game: "Don't Explode"

At the beginning of the month (March) I announced that I have plans to develop a number of small mini games for mobile platforms. My previous post "Snowconesolid Minis" explains these plans. Also I mentioned that I have been working on a new small game for Android platforms. I posted a couple of  early dev screens but never really went into detail. I have been posting to twitter daily as I developed this as well but once again never really explained much about the game. Today I would like to finally share info about the game.

As you can tell by the title of this post and the image above, the name of my next game is:

"Don't Explode"

An endless game about controlling a traveling bomb that can explode at any second. The goal of the game is about how far you can go and how long you can survive before time runs out.

Platforms: Android

Release Date: 3/29/2015
(Just as promised earlier, I did say I was going to have a new release by the end of this month) :)

That's about all I have for now. My new game is finished and will be available tomorrow for free to download off the Google Play Store. So I will definitely be posting updates here on the blog tomorrow as well. "Don't Explode" will be my first release of 2015 and I am very excited to get it out there for everyone to play. Thanks for reading and more updates coming soon!
